Patricia M. Tapley, DMD
Dr.
Tapley was born and raised in Houston,
Texas. She attended Indiana University
on a four year athletic scholarship, where
she played softball for the Hoosiers.
She received her B.A. in Biology in 1981
from IU. In 1984 she received a Masters
of Science in Education from the University
of Florida. She then earned her DMD from
the UF College of Dentistry in 1988, where
she received numerous awards for leadership
and scholastic achievement. Dr. Tapley
completed her orthodontic residency at
UF in 1990 and entered into private practice
at that time. She also served as an Assistant
Clinical Professor at UF from 1993 to
1996.
Dr. Tapley currently serves on the Board
of Directors for the Florida Association
of Orthodontists and is a Director on
the Orthodontic Assistant Certification
Committee.
Dr. Tapley was the first female president of the FAO in 2007.
She is also on the Board of
Directors of the Alachua County Dental
Association.

When not practicing orthodontics, Dr.
Tapley loves to spend time with her husband
and her two sons. The entire Tapley family
is involved with Taekwondo and enjoy school
and sporting activities.
